Programme & Education Advisor
Renate Winters-Völkers
Netherlands
Renate Winters has worked in primary education for more than 28 years and brings a deep understanding of what children and teachers need in everyday school life. Her interest in mindfulness grew from a simple but important question: we ask children to pay attention and concentrate every day, but how do we actually help them develop that ability? This led her to train as a mindfulness trainer for children and teenagers in the Eline Snel Method. She has since brought mindfulness into primary and secondary education, working with whole classes as well as with children and young people individually and in small groups.
Within AMT, Renate brings this extensive classroom experience into the ongoing development of our programmes and method books. She helps keep the content current, inclusive and relevant to the reality of today’s children, teachers and classrooms, while safeguarding the essence of the Eline Snel Method. Her work is guided by the belief that education is about more than knowledge alone: children also need the attention, inner awareness and space to grow into who they are.
