  • What is an MBSR Training?

    Fifty years ago, Jon Kabat-Zinn, a physician, writer, and scientist, together with others, developed the 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) training. This training is now given worldwide in the same way to thousands of people by certified trainers. The MBSR training has proven to be effective in reducing stress, improving mental resilience, and promoting overall well-being.

  • Who is this training suitable for?

    The 8-week MBSR training is for all adults who want to live their precious lives to the fullest. Whether you experience stress in your work, turbulence in your family, or suffer from worrying, insomnia, anxiety, or physical pain, or if you just want to prevent complaints: everyone is welcome. Also, professionals from education or healthcare, who want to become a child trainer in the Eline Snel method and need this eight-week training as preparation for the Course to become a Mindfulness Child Trainer, are very welcome.

Content Mindfulness Training

The training consists of 8 weekly meetings of 2.5 hours. We ask you to do your 'homework' daily during the training. This homework is in the form of meditation, daily reflection on stressful moments and your reactions to them. Practicing being more consciously present with what you are doing while you are doing, thinking, or feeling is an important element. With the help of audio files, and the Sitting Still App, you train your mind to become clear, stable, and resilient. Kinder to yourself and others and less reactive in communication.

Learning outcomes of Mindfulness training

Main learning outcome:

After the 8-week Mindfulness training, the participant is better able to deal with stress, emotions, thoughts, and physical complaints.

Partial outcomes:

  • The participant can observe thoughts, feelings, and physical signals from a friendly inner attitude, without immediately reacting to them or identifying with them.
  • The participant knows forms of self-care and can apply them in daily life.
  • The participant can name the influence of thoughts and feelings on automatic, unwholesome behavior and can transform this into wholesome behavior.

After 8 weeks, participants will be able to

  • apply the basics of meditation in daily life, allowing body and mind to come to rest
  • be out of their heads and in contact with their bodies
  • better feel their boundaries and respond to them in a beneficial way
  • better understand and regulate emotions
