Do you want to integrate mindfulness into your school? We offer a four-step program for school teams, IB groups, boards, and collaborative partnerships. Together, we work on implementing this proven method, focused on more calm, focus, and well-being within education.
Step 1: Information about the content and effects of Mindfulness training in the classroom
Through an introductory meeting on location, you and/or your team will receive all the information needed to integrate mindfulness into your school.
Step 2: 8-week Mindful Teaching training
Eline developed this specialized Mindfulness training specifically for teachers.
The training can be followed as an individual or in a team (online, at your own location, or at our training location, de Heuvelkamp). The costs depend on the number of participants, the location, and whether it is an Offline or Online training. For more information, please contact us via this link.
Content of the training:
During the weekly meeting of 2.5 hours, you will come into contact with
• Your own center of peace and calm. Create peace and calm in the classroom
• Your natural ability to be consciously present and yourself in the classroom
• Looking and listening to yourself and the children without (having to) judge
• The discovery of the 'pause button' and the worrying factory. How do you deal with it?
• The art of stopping and noticing that you are breathing. The breath brings you into this moment, so you are less stuck in 'what still needs to be done' or 'what should have been done'
• The discovery that you cannot prevent stress and work pressure, but you can influence how you deal with it
• Choosing what you need to be fit, motivated, and fully present in the classroom and the school
• Using your qualities better and allowing those of students to flourish
• Self-care and self-compassion: the courage to be vulnerable and strong at the same time. And also to pass this on to the children
Mindful teaching teaches you to take better care of yourself and your students in the multitude of tasks that are there. Being consciously present in what you do, think, and experience is the key word. Attention is the instrument.
Material.
The training includes an extensive workbook. With four practice meditations and guided yoga exercises on USB stick or sent audio, you can practice at home for 20-40 minutes per day.
Step 3: Course to become a Mindfulness Child Trainer and/or Mindfulness Youth Trainer
During the Course to become a Mindfulness Child Trainer or Course to become a Mindfulness Youth Trainer, you will learn to apply the Eline Snel Method in your own class or other classes within the school.
Step 4: Expanding to 'Mindful School'
When attention training according to the Eline Snel Method is given to all students at the school throughout the year, the school is eligible to receive the designation 'Mindful School'.
A mindful school is characterized by:
- Mindfulness for students and teachers: Attention training (mindfulness) is integrated into the school's vision on learning, well-being, and the development of autonomy and life values.
- Permanent part of the curriculum: Mindfulness is a structural part of the education program.
- Trained team: Team members who wish to do so have participated in the 8-week mindfulness training. This enables them to work in the classroom and at school with a friendly, conscious, and non-judgmental attitude.
- Certified teachers: Only teachers who have completed the training at the Academy for Mindful Teaching (AMT) are allowed to give attention training to children.
- Time and space for mindfulness: Teachers are given the necessary time and resources to offer the lessons school-wide.
- Daily mindfulness exercises: Qualified teachers first give the eight to ten main lessons (depending on the age group). Then, throughout the school year, they provide five minutes of attention, compassion, and emotion regulation exercises daily.
- Kikkerkeurmerk: A 'Mindful School' receives a beautifully designed frog quality mark for the outside wall as recognition.
